Lasts 5 years with no reapplication
Bill,
About 3 years ago I applied the Toughguard to my 2003 Jaguar X-Type, and never waxed the car again! Everyone thought I had a custom paint job (including the Jaguar dealer!) applied and spent every weekend detailing and waxing my car.
-- WRONG!
I washed it by hand during the warm months once a week or so, and during the cold months it would see a car wash about every 6 weeks if the salt spray was bad and about every 8 weeks if it wasn't looking like a salted peanut.
I just traded the Jag in on a brand new Chrysler 300C. When I pointed out which car I drove in and wanted to trade, the head salesman said "I'm not even going to test drive it - anyone that keeps a car in that condition obviously has taken care of it. I'm not even walking outside to look at it" and went back to his paperwork.
The floor salesman I was dealing with wouldn't believe I hadn't had a custom paint job and detailing done on it, and kept asking who did it. As we were going over the car (at his insistence - he was REALLY impressed!) I noticed a tar mark from some road work going on right in front of the dealer. With the salesman watching with a puzzled look on his face, I took a rag out of the trunk, wet it with the water I was drinking, and wiped off the tar. His statement was "I have never seen that done before - never! What did you say you used on this?", so I gave him the Toughguard brochure I had in the glove box.
To say I was happy with the results of Toughguard over the years would be a gross understatement! Even the wheels covered in brake dust cleaned easily!
Since I am still a very lazy guy, I want to treat my new 300C the same way!
I'm ready to order a couple of kits!

Dear Sir/Mdm,
I am Jack from Singapore.
I have used Toughguard 3-years ago on my old car and your product is perfect. And this is just what I need for my new car now which is a Black Toyota.
Unfortunately, the company that did the Toughguard protection for me was winded up and I have lost the contacts of the sales person. Could you kindly re- directy me to any company that is/are currently carrying your product andservice?
Best regards,
Jack Lai
Hello:
We have completed our tests with the Toughguard and are very impressed. The series of tests we ran were for durability, shine and protection.
Durability: We applied the Toughguard as outlined in the instructions to a bonnet of a test vehicle. This bonnet was washed many times (30+) with harsh detergents. The Toughguard maintained its shine and seemed to improve with each wash.
Shine: We have found a lot of Paint Protection products out there with unrealistic claims, saying never wax and polish again. Because of our experience with many paint protection products, we found many lost their high gloss shine after only a month or two. This left many customers confused and despondent to future services. We have found that Toughguard so far has maintained its high gloss shine even after being subjected to many harsh tests and environments.
Protection: In Australia we are fortunate or unfortunate to have Eucalyptus trees. These trees have a very sticky sap which is also quite acidic. Not the best friend for vehicle paint work. I have seen many car's paint work ruined beyond repair because of these trees. Our bird life in Australia is also prolific making droppings on paint work quite an ordeal to continually clean. I am fortunate to have a large eucalyptus tree right out the front of my property making testing easy and convenient. We have had our test vehicle constantly parked under this tree. The leaves fall onto the vehicle the sap falls onto the vehicle and the birds find it an interesting target. We left the residue on the paintwork for 1 week to see if there was any degradation of protection. We were very pleased that when we cleaned the bonnet with a mild detergent all the sap, stains from leaves and bird droppings came off easily. There was no residue or marks left on the paint work, just a lovely shine.
We give Toughguard the thumbs up down here in Oz.

This is the forth car that you have applied Toughguard on for me over the last fifteen years, and your product is superb. I have never needed to wax a car over this period, and the car's finish always look like they have just been detailed.
I live in the country and drive a lot on gravel roads where the summer dust and the winter mud are a problem for most of my neighbors. The smooth surface that your product gives my car's finish resists dirt and mud. When its time to wash the car it cleans easily.
Keep up the good work. I'll be back when I buy another car.
Kindest Regards,
Leo G. Graham
I had never heard of this "Toughguard" product until just a few days ago. A business friend of mine drove up in his new Chevy Tahoe with the same pewter metallic color as my Silverado truck. I could see he kept his vehicle detailed and so I introduced him to a new line of microfiber cloths I was using. He in turned said look at his paint job a little closer which I did. At the first touch of the paint on the hood of his truck I knew he had some kind of special coating applied. He just laughed and I said what the *##% do you have on this truck. It felt so smooth and the shine was so deep it looked like a measurable thickness of glass atop the original paint.
Thanks for the friendly service and I look forward to reporting the results back to you.

I just wanted to take a moment to let you know how great the Toughguard product is.
It has been almost a year since I had the product applied to two of my vehicles. It is very apparent on my Escape, which is a deep blue, how great the finish looks when setting next to another blue Escape without Toughguard. My vehicle looks brighter even when dirty.
Prior to having the Toughguard product applied I thought the finish looked dull. Now is alive and has a brilliant shine.
The best benefit is how easily the vehicles clean up. Dirt does not stick to the finish as it did without Toughguard.

It has been over 8 months now since we had the Mercedes and the 1997 Ford 3/4 ton pickup done, and they both still look new.
We have done nothing except wash the vehicles every week or so, and the Mercedes still looks like obsidian -- it is striking! I've got to tell you, though, the truck is so pretty I was embarrassed for a while until I got used to the comments from other truck owners about what a "pretty" truck it is (I used to get "nice truck" comments....) -- but now I love the comments (they're just jealous).
I've got to tell you a story about the truck that happened about 3-4 months after I had it treated with Toughguard. We were taking a group of kids (from our Coming Of Age group at the church) over to Eastern Washington for an outdoor weekend. We had three vans, but I always take the truck also because it is a crew cab and it hauls both people and gear easily.
Wouldn't you know it we got everything from rain, sleet and even some snow while we were out camping and blue-bird sunshine on the day we were heading back to Seattle. In order to get to where we set up camp we have to drive 12 - 14 miles on dirt roads, and on this weekend that meant MUD roads! All of the vehicles were totally covered in mud going in and, although it was beautiful the day we drove out, the road was still a river of mud so we got a second coat of mud on the way out too.
Because I had cleared the windshield with the wipers and the front side windows I could see to drive, and I could see the other vehicles behind me, and they were covered with mud except for the windshield also. We drove less than two hours in beautiful sunshine, and stopped at a rest area to give everybody a break. When I stepped out of the truck, I couldn't believe my eyes -- virtually all of the mud had fallen off the truck except on the windows, wheels, tires and the running boards! Even the back of the fiberglass canopy was shiny again! I don't know if the wind blew the dirt off my truck or if it just fell off, but the three vans were still covered in mud. That little episode made me a believer in the quality of a Toughguard finish, and since then I've been willing to accept the fact that I really do havea pretty truck.....
When our brand new fiberglass Campion 542 Sport Cabin fishing boat back from its inaugural Toughguard application, I took the boat back up to the dealer in Everett to have the rest of the outfitting done, and they couldn't believe the change in the look and feel of the gelcoat! Mind you, this boat was brand spanking new and it still made an amazing difference in the finish of the gelcoat.
Okay, a little story about the boat too -- As part of the outfitting the dealer was having a custom, canvas tonneau made to cover the open cockpit of the boat. The guys at the dealership were already impressed with the Toughguard finish, but on the day that the gal showed up to make the pattern for the cover I got a call from the guy who sold me the boat. All I heard was this voice on the phone saying "What is this stuff....?". I said "who is this, and what stuff are you talking about?". He announced that it was Randy from the dealership, and he explained that he was talking about the stuff that I put on the boat. I told him it is Toughguard, and he said "I know what it's called, but what is this stuff? -- the gal is out there trying to make the pattern for your cover, and she can't get the tape to stick to the boat!".
I believe you'll be hearing from people buying boats in Everett because the guys at the dealership are blown away by the finish on my boat. They actually sold several boats off of my boat while it was up there getting outfitted, and they're asking me where they can go to get it done for their new buyers....
I didn't mean to write a book, but do you think I like Toughguard? I LOVE IT! I also trust and appreciate you guys down in Portland, and I'm thrilled to have gotten hooked up with Toughguard! I don't know what's next, but thanks for the kicks so far!
Sincerely,
Herb Brackman

I wanted to give you praise on your product. I am stationed onboard the Ticonderoga class cruiser USS Port Royal (CG-73) out of Pearl Harbor, HI. I have been onboard three and a half years and we have used Toughguard once a year on our antennas. Since they are technically considered radars we have to be careful what we use on them, but we have had nothing but compliments on them while using the Toughguard kits. And with the constant warm weather and being exposed to the sun day in and day out, this product has held up with no problems at all. And washing the stack gas off of them is a simple task also compared to other pieces of equipment that we have to spray down that don't have Toughguard on them. I am going to ask around the ship and see what else can be waxed, and if there are, I am going to recommend Toughguard right away!
Thanks again Bill for a wonderful product. I think I will order a kit for my truck too!
Thanks a lot...

Toughguard is the best overfinish I've ever used. My old favorite was Xymol, primarily because it was easy to apply, but on a good finish it doesn't touch your stuff for depth of shine.

Here in Florida we have a 3 week period twice a year where Love-Bugs become a real problem. After driving home on the Interstate the front of my car is always covered with the acid bugs and if not washed off right away, they eat the paint and leave a yellow stain. Under normal waxed conditions there is always moderate scrubbing and soaking involved. Well, when Igot home yesterday, I took a dry cloth and wiped over the bumper and front of my car and the bugs just wiped of like powder. This is amazing!

In my experience with your Toughguard product, I believe that your product is unparalled for it's claims, they are true.
Here in South Florida, home of the discriminating customer, I have yet to encounter a customer unsatisfied with Toughguard.
Thank you and keep up the good work.

I like buying cars. I've owned 39 of them in 38 years. I looked for a long time for just the right Lexus LS400 before buying it two weeks ago. It's a '96 with 37k miles and has that beautiful white diamond pearl paint. It really looked to be in perfect condition. Well, almost. I had Toughguard applied today by my detail man, Paul, and we both stood slack-jawed at the results. I swear it looks better than any new showroom car. The difference between what I thought was an already beautiful car and what I have now is worth several times what I paid for your product.
My detail man, however, is not delighted. "Whadda ya mean it never needs waxing again?!!!" Sorry Paul. Take it up with Toughguard.

Remember almost three years to this day, I ran across Toughguard while surfing the web and was extremely interested. I phoned and e-mailed you on many occasions over what appeared to be perhaps several weeks with many skeptical questions and concerns as to does this stuff really work?
Well, I finally agreed to receive some printed materials from you describing exactly what you and I had spoken of on the phone. In the printed literature you sent, were some of the basic chemical reaction stuff of how Toughguard works. Well, being the chemistry novice that I am, I passed this information along to my wife who has her Masters in Chemistry and my cousin who has his Ph.D. in Chemistry for some further clarification. They explained to me in very positive lay mans terms how this product could work based on the literature.
Well, I took the chance and purchased a complete Toughguard kit and applied it to my new 1999 Toyota 4Runner (purchase new in 7/99)! . Well, what can Isay, the rest is history. I live in Florida, however, my computer consulting took me to Indianapolis for 1 year and the 4Runner went with me. I can honestly say that after approximately 50 machine drive through car washes, mounds of snow and muck, blazing heat (yes it does get warm in Indianapolis), I still received compliments three years later on how wonderful the 4Runner looked. Nothing would stick to the 4 Runner (except the shine of course)!
However, as you're well aware, our family is growing from one child (17 months old) and twins expected in mid-November of this year, I had to sell the 4Runner and purchase the Suburban. Incidentally, I made $4150.00 profit on the 4Runner after three years and 34K miles later due to the extreme luster of the paint lasting as well as it had due to Toughguard! I sincerely cannot wait to apply to it to the new Suburban this weekend!
Again, many sincere thanks and Best Wishes.

Thank you for a truly amazing product. I am not one to write testimonials, but I cannot say enough about this product.
Pulling my Yamaha Waverunner to the lake with my Grand Am GT wreaks havoc on the front of the car. Before learning of Toughguard I had to literally scrub the bugs and grime from the front and sides of my car. Since the Toughguard has been applied simply driving in the rain washes most of the bugs and road film off of the vehicle.
I have never had more comments about the appearance of my vehicle. The shine is actually better than showroom new.
Keeping it clean has never been easier. Driving my car in the rain used to mean that I would have to wash it the next day. I can almost think of the rain now as a car wash.
I cannot say enough for this truly amazing product.
Sincerely,
Kevin McKenzie
Normally, I do not write letters extolling the virtues of any product. Toughguard, however, has proven to be an extraordinary item.
On my personal car, a black Jaguar, it has proven itself to be the must effective, least labor intensive care product I have ever used.
As an F & I Manager selling the product on a day to day basis, not only can I rest assured that the customer is getting the best product on the market, s(he) is also getting a product that requires the least amount of customer maintenance after its application.
My customers see the benefit of having a superior product; consequently, sealant sales are frequent and profits are higher per sale than with any other sealant brand that I've sold.
I would highly recommend your products to prospective customers. They workexactly as you portray and, so far, the customers are coming back and asking for more!!
If you have any customers who are on the fence over purchasing your program, please feel free to have them call.
Thanks for supplying us a trouble-free product no one has to be ashamed of.

Robert Staub came to our company and demonstrated his product (Toughguard) on some of our new and used vehicles. We were very pleased with the waythe vehicles looked after Toughguard was applied. After a sufficient amount of time had passed, we checked the vehicles and were extremely pleased with the outcome.
Our customers are very happy because the final package is better. We handle high line vehicles and our customers have high expectations, so this is one way to insure their satisfaction. Every dealer wants to have a high CSI. Toughguard is definitely an added value to the vehicle and has helped us increase our profits.
Not only is Toughguard a good product, the company handles any questions or concerns immediately. They take a great deal of pride in doing the best job possible.
In going through my records, I note that it has now been a year and a half since I had the Toughguard process put on my Mercedes. As you know, I have another Mercedes that I have waxed. In the last year and a half I have had the second car waxed twice, and at this point it only looks half as good as the job you did on my other car.
Initially I was skeptical of your product, but your testimonial letters finally convinced me to try the Toughguard application on my wife's 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL. Her midnight blue is now the dark midnight blue, as it was originally and as a result, we are completely satisfied with the polish.
I then had our 1991 500EL and the two 1992 Mercedes-Benz 500EL and 300-4 sedans polished by you. They are all black, which have been extremely difficult to keep clean, and now, due to your wax application, the length of time they remain clean is incredible. I have to recommend your polish to anyone that is concerned with how his or her car appears.
You can have anyone call me regarding your service and product.
Ray and I just wanted to write to you and tell you how nice our truck looks even after all this time. I know it's been a long time, but back in 1987 we bought a brand new F-250 4-wheel drive pickup. It had all the bells and whistles and we wanted to keep it for many years, so we took it directly from the dealer to you to have you "Toughguard" it. When we picked it up, that dark navy blue paintand the tan side panels absolutely glowed. We were thrilled with the job you did, and thought it was well worth what it cost.
In spite of what you told us at the time about how long the shine would last, to be honest, we didn't really believe you. Now it's the end of 1991 and we still get the compliments on how shiny and new the truck looks. Of course it doesn't hurt that Ray keeps the truck really clean, which isn't easy since we use it on our farm hauling hay, grain and other farm by-products. I pretend that I believe Ray when he tells me he's washing the truck, but we both know he's really out there caressing it because he loves it so much.
The product is great and your "salesmen's hype" wasn't just another boast by a crazed salesmen! The darn stuff works and wears like iron! Anyone who keeps a car for a few years would be well served by spending the money to have Toughguard applied to their vehicle. They will never have to wax again---or at least not for five years---and counting.
A couple of months ago you applied your Toughguard treatment to my '85 AUDI 5000 Turbo. The results have been everything you claimed thy would be. My car has never looked better, with a deep luster to the finish. In fact, recently when my car was at a dealer for servicing, I compared the finish on my car to a brand new AUDI. Except for the rock chips, mine looked better!
And I find that I need to wash my car far less than before. I used to spend on the average about $25 to $35 per month in the winter trying to keep my car presentable. Now I have it washed about once a month. DIRT JUST DOESN'T STICK! When the weather improves I anticipate washing my car only when the INTERIOR needs cleaning! I figure that the savings alone from not having to wash my car as often will pay for the treatment in about eighteen months!
In closing, I am very pleased with your services and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who wants a better looking car.
I now have over 18,000 highway, sagebrush and mud hole miles on my truck. You coated and polished it a year ago - it still looks like new! The scratches that I put on proves that you did not apply a bullet proof force field, but that was not the intention; the coating has performed exactly as you told me it would i.e., it's easy to clean, it shines, there is no oxidation and I still get comments about it being a new truck.
I would highly recommend your work to anyone who cares to ask. Thanks again for your good work.
Sincerely,
E.R. Queen, President
Just wanted to drop you a note to thank you for "Toughguarding" my second car. It's been over a year since you did the first one and it still looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Being a black car the depth of color is beautiful and the dirt resistance is outstanding.
You have a great product in Toughguard and I would highly recommend it to anyone who takes pride in their automobile.
As you know, when I bought my Audi I was very interested in protecting the metallic paint finish. Your process of coating the car was a complete success. The car looks terrific, much better than it did when I got it from the dealer brand new. It has a special shine or luster that the factory couldn't produce. Thanks very much for your help.
Very truly yours,
Dennis Bromka
